The Science Group warmly welcomes any member of Tynedale U3A.
Even if you don't belong to the group, if there is a subject on our programme which you find interesting, then please come along.
If you would like to join the group, all you need is an interest in science; you don't need to have had a scientific training. At meetings we usually have a talk or presentation given by one of the group. The topics are wide ranging, as you can see from the programme below.
If you join, then we would like you to contribute talks or arrange for a guest speaker. To start with you can sit back and get a feel for how we operate before taking the plunge. Talks and presentations (usually lasting about 45 minutes) are followed by questions and discussion, very lively and enjoyable
There are 22 members at present, all active. There are usually about 15 members present at most meetings.
We have a pre-arranged programme, and meet on the third Monday of every month, at 2.30 pm at The County Hotel, Hexham. We may also have ad hoc meetings at dates between.
