Recorder beginners and new recorder challenges
Sessions on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 4pm to 4.30 pm
This is a chance to have six one-to-one or small group sessions to start learning the recorder or to refresh your skills if you have not played since school. Members can play any of the four most popular recorders : the small descant, the larger treble, the more mellow tenor recorder or even the bass.
If you already play one type of recorder, you might be looking to try a new size of instrument to have a different experience or to contribute more to your consort group. Moving to the treble, tenor or the bass recorder can take a bit of persistence so these sessions may encourage you to give it a try.
Bass players are often in demand in u3a consort groups and new models of bass recorder are now much cheaper so this may be a good time to change.
Members will be encouraged to use a tutor book to practice between sessions and so will be able to develop skills at their own pace.
Trust u3a members can contact Janet the Group Leader via the Beacon Members Portal
Please address any other queries to the Groups Co-Ordinator.
