The "History of British art 1700-1850". A six week course, led by Neil Houghton:
An exploration of 150 years of British art, a period which many consider to be the “golden Age” of British painting. Commencing with Sir James Thornhill and William Hogarth, British artists began to establish their reputations.
Until this period British artists were always considered inferior to their Continental counterparts.
This 6 week course, will start on Monday January 4th 2021 via Zoom.
Each week there will be two forty minute sessions; Part one; 10 am until 10.40 am, then a twenty minute break. Part 2: 11.00 am until 11.40. This timing arrangement will allow time for the discussion and questions.
A minimum of 10 participants will be need for the course to run up to a maximum of 20.
