Film for April 2024
Dear Group Member
I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter and avoided eating too much chocolate. What you can’t avoid is the current enthusiasm in the film industry for biopics snd here is their latest offering. The film for April is:
BACK TO BLACK
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, this film tells the story of Amy Winehouse, on the journey to stardom that thrusts her from '90s London’s East End to global adoration – and back again. Amy's complicated personal life, family ties and hopeless romances, and the ever-present celebrity machine, do battle with her creativity, honesty, and extraordinary but ultimately doomed, musical genius as she crafts the songs that come to make up her definitive album. (15,122 mins)
Showing at
Harbour Lights Cinema Ocean Village Southampton
Cost £9.60 for over 60s (includes 70p booking fee)(£5.90 for Picture House members)
