Ukulele for beginners
This is a 12-week, structured Introductory Course, to teach newcomers to the Ukulele, including anatomy of the instrument, fundamentals of playing, including reading chords, strumming, elementary finger-picking, different genres and tempos. We started at the beginning of October
.
At the moment, meetings are weekly, on Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:00 pm, at United Reform Church.
You do not need to be able to read standard music, but a fair sense of rhythm is helpful.
A small number of ukuleles are available to borrow for the duration of the course, and advice given when considering purchasing your own. There will be plenty of information/song sheets provided, to support you in your personal practice.
The first course of 12 lessons lasts until January 2020. There could be a repeat course in 2020 if numbers make this viable. A nominal charge will be made for venue hire and printing.
