Upwords and Scrabble

Please note as from April 2024 we will be reverting back to 2pm start
Please note during the winter months, we will be starting at 1pm and ending at 3-30pm.
This is to enable members to get home in daylight
Upwords is a similar group to scrabble. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday in the month, with the exception of bank Holidays when we do not meet (Normally Mondays)
It is a board game of words, played similar to scrabble, but you build up (to 5 levels) and also on the flat. Easy to play and fun to learn
Although these groups are lively and competitive, they are ideal for beginners.
We are all there to help the newcomer with learning the game as well as spelling. No one is ridiculed or scorned because they can’t spell; they are helped.
This is a fun afternoon and everyone goes home feeling much more buoyant than they were when they came.
All this forges new friendships and well being.
We pay £2.00 per person, and this goes towards the children's Christmas party (Club members only)
Currently we meet at The Chadwell-st.-Mary social Club (Riverview)
We normally (not Always) make ourselves a hot drink, for which 0.50p is charged to go towards the cost of the materials.
