The group's aim is to target activities that are on people's "bucket list" or "to do" list and make them happen. Whether this be scaling the O2 building; zip wire riding; or simply attending an event that you have always wanted to go to, but haven't ever got around to it. If you have a "list" and want to start tackling some of the items on it - then this is the Group for you. Once we have costs and locations sorted out, each event will be advertised to the entire U3A to see if there are any others who would be interested in that particular event. It is not compulsory for all Group members to attend or attempt all the activities merely provide some encouragement to those who do. The Group meet regularly but never at a fixed location, time or date, so please contact Sue Harsent the Group leader via the Contacts button for further information.
On Tuesday, 10 March the Bucket List Group had its first outing to the Post Museum with a ride on the underground Post Train. In the end only 6 of the original 14 members made the trip. It was a fine day and the group walked rather than took the bus to the Museum, and on advice when straight for the train ride and had the train virtually to ourselves. We then explored the museum with lots of inter-active things for children, we often found they were just a smidge too low for us. We then went off to have a pub lunch before heading home.
This was our first and is going to be the only event for a spell, the three planned events for April, May and June have been cancelled and until the Government advice changes our monthly group meetings have been suspended. Stay safe everyone.
