This group is led by Mick Rider - we meet on the second Thursday of the month for a statin challenging breakfast at a local pub where we discuss and argue about all sports for a couple of hours.
We are also an active group and attend various sporting events and venues.
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
On 16th October a group of us went to a stadium tour at the new Spurs ground. We visited the stands & the entertainment areas; we saw the media area & both home & away dressing rooms etc as well as sitting (if so inclined) in Pochettino's seat at pitch side. To describe it as 'state of the art' seems almost inadequate for a facility which has so many great features. Which ever team we might support then we were all agreed it is an amazing stadium & well worth the visit.
The 26th of September saw 21 members of the group make our third (or was it fourth) 'annual' visit to the Cambridgeshire meeting. We were very lucky with the weather after what had been a few dreadfully wet days, being very fine with plenty of sunshine. Some of us were equally lucky with our betting choices though others were not so fortunate. 'Twere ever thus!
Adventure Golf at Garons
In September several intrepid members of the Talksport group took on the challenge of Garons Castle Adventure Golf.
After 18 tortuous holes the winner was Paul Tidey with a score of 46, second Keith Miller with 48, and third Malcolm Hayes with 50.
Paul will be the holder of the Claret Jug (aka a ceramic mug) as Champion golfer of 2019.
