The Photography Group meets on the third Tuesday morning of every month at 10 am. Please contact Paul Cordess Group Leader. Meetings are usually held at a local hall, but sometimes the group arranges to visit a photography exhibition, or to go out on a shoot.
Some months will be devoted to training and learning to take better photographs.

We now have several pictures on this page and in the Gallery from the members of the Photography Group but we still have lots of room for more. So come on all you creative types in the Group, let's see what you are capable of.

November 2019 Panel Competition
“The Photography Group spent a very enjoyable morning at Saxon Hall on Tuesday 19th November 2019. It was competition time and we had to enter a panel of six images on the theme of 'Food for Thought' and then vote for our favourite. We had been given a year to take these photographs and it was amazing to see many different interpretations of the theme. Two separate judges decided who should be this year's winner of the Creative Panel. The worthy winners were: 1st Jo Green, 2nd Marlene Dixon, 3rd Eddie Hobbs. The winner of the most Creative Panel was Marlene Dixon. See Photos”

October 2020 Panel Competition
'Apertures' – as in openings, holes or gaps

Enter six 6” x 4” prints. Either colour or monochrome. Please make sure your name is on the back of each print. These photos will be placed on black paper provided by us and will be judged as a panel by the rest of the group. These should have been taken between November 2019 and October 2020. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, each receiving a certificate. The 1st place will also receive a trophy. Additionally, there will be one panel selected for its creativity. This creative panel will be judged separately by two or three selected judges. The winner of this will receive a certificate and trophy.

Think about apertures in architecture - modern or historical. Churches, cathedrals, castle or church ruins, garden entrances and gateways, sculptures. Garden designers often make use of apertures (Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court), possibly household objects, I’m sure you can think of many others. It is your interpretation, but remember the apertures must be clearly seen and the images should work together as a panel.
