The Photography Group meets on the third Tuesday morning of every month at 10 am. Please contact Henry White Group Leader. Meetings are usually held at a local hall, but sometimes the group arranges to visit a photography exhibition, or to go out on a shoot.
Some months will be devoted to training and learning to take better photographs.

We now have several pictures on this page and in the Gallery from the members of the Photography Group but we still have lots of room for more. So come on all you creative types in the Group, let's see what you are capable of.

August 2019 Competition

This month the Photography Group met to enter our annual August competition. This year's theme was 'Life on the Water'. We'd had a year to take the photos and could enter three 6x4in prints. There were many excellent entries, showing different forms of life. We each voted for our favourite and the results were: 1st Paul Cordess, 2nd Loraine French, 3rd Loraine French. See photos.

November 2019 Panel Competition

“Food for Thought”
Enter six 6” x 4” prints. Either colour or monochrome. Please make sure your name is on the back of each print. These photos will be placed on black paper provided by us and will be judged as a panel by the rest of the group. These should have been taken between November 2018 and November 2019. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, each receiving a certificate. The 1st place will also receive a trophy. Additionally, there will be one panel selected for its creativity. This creative panel will be judged separately by two or three selected judges. The winner of this will receive a certificate and trophy.
This must be food related and could include any food – just one type or many, seasonal or celebrations, people enjoying or working with food, food in the field (agriculture or animals), harvest, allotments, food markets, street food, restaurants (interior or exterior), transportation of foodstuffs (could be unusual, especially from foreign countries), utensils, menus, ingredients. As usual, I’m sure you will think of many others. It is your interpretation.

August 2020 competition
‘Sports & Games’
Enter up to three 6” x 4” prints. Either colour or monochrome. Please make sure your name is on the back of each print. These will be judged as separate images, not as a panel, by the rest of the group. These images should have been taken between August 2019 and August 2020. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, each receiving a certificate.
For those of you who are not inspired by sports or who cannot get out to take sports photos, we have broadened the title to include games - possibly board games, family games, etc. It is your interpretation.
