This is a new time-limited group, starting in September 2018. Confirmation to follow, but it is hoped that it will meet on the third Friday morning of each month, for ten months, from 10.30am to 12.30pm possibly at the Chantry.
Our aim is to learn together about the causes, effects and possible solutions/ mitigations to climate change, and to explore why the global community are failing to deal with the problems effectively. Is our capitalist system preventing effective action? What makes some people deny that climate change is happening? Is there any chance that they are right? Is there anything we can realistically do as individuals to protect our grandchildren from the possible disaster unfolding?
The facilitators of the group are not experts. It is hoped that all members of the group will be active in researching the topic and in joining in the discussions, helped by some relevant speakers and films along the way.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their level of knowledge about the subject, although numbers may need to be limited due to space.
