Do you have views and opinions that you are happy to share? Do you enjoy hearing the views and opinions of others? Then the Discussions Group is made for you. There are no tutors, no votes, no right answers and no formalities.
At each meeting, a volunteer introduces the topic and suggests avenues to explore. However, we often stray off the subject, so that even the most serious of topics can be interspersed with light-hearted banter. There are usually about a dozen of us, so everyone gets a chance to have a say if they wish, and there is room for half a dozen more opinions. At the end of each meeting we choose the topic for the following month; this is then posted in the Events section of the TU3A website.
Topics so far this year have been: Words; and My place in Society. For March we look at Race and Racism; and for April the topic is IQ. So bring your experiences and prejudices to the Lounge at The Chantry, Castle Street, Thornbury at 2pm on the second Tuesday of the month and help set the world to right.
No need to pre-book, just turn up. Or, if you wish, contact Bob Dale on 415345 or by email at Discussions
