Computing
Computer Club is for everyone interested in computers!
Computers are everywhere in our lives these days and many of us own mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones as well as laptop and desktop computers.
At Computer Club we aim to cover technical matters as well as the fun side of using computers. The group’s breadth of discussion has been expanded since lockdown to cover not just PCs, but now the broadest range of devices, from historical mechanical machines to the most recent developments like Quantum computers! Recent newsletters have covered specific topics like smartphones and media conversion from analogue to digital. Suggestions for additional topics are always welcome.
Meetings These used to be held on the first Friday of every month - this arrangement may return depending on members’ wishes, until then the group is kept informed by way of monthly newsletters, in the form of a PDF file attached to an email with covering text. Members are encouraged to send enquiries, features, updates, or requests for help, to the leader, who will be happy to offer help - either by email, or personal visit in case of on-site needs.
New members are always welcome and any u3a member can join the circulation list. Contact the leader via the email link below, quote your name & Thornbury u3a membership number and your name will be added to the list for receiving the monthly newsletter. No newsletters are issued during our traditional 3 month summer break (June-August).
