Scottish Country Dance
Did you know that, according to research, happiness is Scottish Dancing! It combines all the elements which create positive feelings – it is sociable, active and involves both the body and the brain with great music to help you along. This is Scottish country dancing – not a sword in sight! It is danced in sets of, usually, 6 or 8 people. It is a tradition in this type of dancing that everyone changes partners after each dance so there is no need to come with a partner to be included.
We have a trained Royal Scottish Country Dance Society teacher to lead us. We are meeting on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30-4pm at the Methodist Church Hall in Thornbury. (the alternative weeks to the established Country Dancing group). If you have them, soft shoes are easier to dance in and comfortable clothing. We each bring our own drinks.
The cost is likely to be around £1.50 per session.
We have space for a good number of dancers. It is great fun. Come along and give it a try!
Contact our Group Leader, Margaret Pinder here - Scottish Country Dance or phone 01454416778 or just come along on one of the dates below. You’ll be very welcome.
