Our walks are led by different U3A members, who take the group through an area of countryside they know well, thus giving us an interesting variety of routes. We walk once a month, for 4 or 5 miles at a moderate pace, and the usual starting time is 10.30 a.m. These are round walks which end at a pub or similar watering hole, where the walkers can enjoy some food and drink together. The programme is published in the monthly newsletter, and information about forthcoming dates is sent out by e-mail.
For those who would enjoy a greater challenge, there will be walks of 6 miles or more, organised from time to time by a walking group member. Further information will be published in the newsletter, or circulated by e-mail from the co-ordinator.
You need to be reasonably fit and able to clamber over a stile, but apart from that, anyone can join us for this most enjoyable and healthy activity.
