Rummikub: Nevil Court, The Moors: 2.15pm to 4.15pm on the second Wednesday of the month
We started the Thatcham Rummikub group in October 2012. At the Thatcham Festival meetings of October 2012 and 2013 a few of our early members demonstrated how the game was played. There were only six of us then but now we have about 20 members, with around 9 to 14 players attending each session.
We like to think we are a friendly, relaxed group and we welcome new members. We would be happy to help you learn the game if you are not familiar with it. Rummikub has many similarities with the card game, Rummy, but it is played with large tiles and racks instead of cards.
Nevil Court, who kindly permit us to use their dining room for our meetings, provide us with a very comfortable venue in which to hold our meetings. It is to be found in Blackdown Way, which is the first turning right off Ilkley Way (the end of Ilkley near the large red pillar box on The Moors).
You may care to go to this site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rummikub. This gives a rather wordy explanation of the game. However it really is not a difficult game to learn.
