Meetings are currently on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.
They are held at the Roses Theatre Bar at 2pm and last about an hour and a half
There are currently six members.
Sessions are set around a topic or theme with a mail sent to members in advance with some information.
The first session dealt with introductions, greetings and casual meetings. Members contribute from their own experience and we all benefit from sharing the insights into the culture and traditions of different parts of Spain.
Did you know that, if you say hello - HOLA! to someone in the street, they may reply goodbye - ADIOS!, it signifies that they don’t have time to stop and chat!
The second session will cover food and drink. You can discover the origins of TAPAS and of the MENU DE DIA. We will look at the differences in Spanish food and drink and what people like or dislike. Spanish eating times and their general diet is very different to British habits and different across Spain.
The Group aims to share experiences, use the language and help each person to learn how to express themselves and converse. It is not grammar based and should always be enjoyable.
