APRIL 2020


In October 2019, we held a Group Leaders’ meeting which was successful, although I would like to see more leaders attend in future – without Group Leaders there would not be a U3A. A few group reports were read out and the afternoon ended in entertainment from the Music Group, Recorders and Country Dancing (encouraged wholeheartedly by Phyllis).
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, a New Members’ meeting has not been held this year.
A few groups are continuing by zoom meetings, telephone calls, email (Art Appreciation, Poetry, Bridge 2 together with blogging and a regular quiz from our Craft Leader, Spanish Improvers, Table Tennis and Visual Arts). I would like to make a special mention and thank you to Patchwork & Quilting who have been supporting frontline workers by making scrub sets.
I set out below some stats for your information:
Closed Groups: Greek for Beginners, Knit & Crochet has been absorbed into another craft group, Ukelele Intermediate.
New Groups: Well Being.
