The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is an organisation for retired and semi-retired people to socialise and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery and sharing a lifetime of experience.

Members share their skills to teach and learn, and there is no distinction between them. We have a number of interest groups that you can join and always interested in forming new groups.

Tamworth U3A has been going now for over 30 years. From small beginnings we have grown to over 400 members. Our main monthly meeting is at 2:00 p.m. normally on the Second Wednesday of each month at Tamworth Assembly Rooms. We have an interesting programme of speakers on a wide variety of topics, followed by a chance for a cup of tea or coffee and to chat with other members.

We also have a coffee morning on the third Wednesday of the month to give members a chance to meet up over a cup of tea or coffee for a chat and a chance to play cards or board games. Meetings at 10.30am to 12.30pm at St.Editha's Church Hall.

Visitor are always welcome to our meetings. For further information contact through our contact page.

We currently have 28 active groups each of which are listed on the Group page with a description of their activities.

If you join and have interests in a particular topic that you would like to share then talk to a committee member, let us see if we can form another group!
