The University of the Third Age (U3A) movement is an organisation for retired and semi-retired people come together and learn together, not for qualifications but for its own reward: the sheer joy of discovery and sharing a lifetime of experience.
Members share their skills to teach and learn, and there is no distinction between them.
Tamworth U3A has been going now for over 30 years. From small beginnings we have grown to over 400 members. Our main monthly meeting is at 2:00 p.m. on the Second Wednesday of each month in St.Editha's Church Hall. We have an interesting programme of speakers on a wide variety of topics, followed by a chance to chat.
We are also trying a coffee morning on the third Wednesday of the month to give members a chance to meet up over a cup of coffee or tea. Meetings at 10.30am to 12.30pm at St.Editha's Church Hall
Visitor are always welcome to our meetings.
We currently have 28 active groups each of which are listed on the Group page with a description of their activities.
If you join and have interests in a particular topic that you would like to share then talk to a committee member, let us see if we can form another group!
