TAMWORTH U3A New South Wales Australia: Any items of interest Give to David Pratty

Having been contacted by the President of the Australia U3A we were asked if we would like to set up a pen pal system to exchange views, interests and start a regular Newsletter exchange with them. If any individual member or Group Leader would like to supply anything to go into our outgoing Newsletter's to them, can you either contact Committee member Dave Pratty via the link on his Film Studies web page or hand in either your article or even photos to any committee member at the monthly meeting or coffee morning.
(Obviously we will take care of any photos supplied which will be returned and your original hard copy article if so desired.) Our December edition has now been sent and we would like to thank Eileen Davies for her very entertaining poem.

New groups

Science and Technology#
This group is slowly growing. Next meeting 4th November we will be about "Apollo 11" The group is to introduce the basic ideas of how things work, no previous knowledge is required. We will meet this time at St.John Church, through the Arched side door. Group Leader Tony Harris

It is the aim of the U3A members should be teach as well as learn. to this end we need to form new interest groups for members. To start a new interest group you don't have to be an expert in the subject, just interested and wanting to share your interest with others and learn more about the subject together.

With the number of new members we need more groups for them to join. If you think you would like to join/start a new group speak to a committee member and let us help get you started.

We have suggestions for a Theater group (to visit small and large local theaters. Contact us if this is of interest.

Film Studies This is a group which started in July 2017. We are slowly building its membership but more U3A members are welcomed. So if you have a movie you would love to see again or perhaps one you would have liked to have seen where they truly belong on a big screen but never had that opportunity, then come and join us at St Edith's Church Hall on the first Thursday of the month between 2.00-4.00pm. Group Leader David Pratty.
