Bird Watching Group
|Group Organiser||Maggie Harrison||"click bird to contact"|
|Group meets||Monthly by Arrangement (3rd Friday) Morning.|
We meet on the third Friday of each month, from 10.00am – 12.30 at local venues which are chosen to maximise our chances of some good bird watching throughout the seasons. We take it in turns to check out and lead each month and then communication is by email to finalise details.
We are a small friendly group who share our knowledge and enjoyment of bird watching, whilst spotting and identifying birds, both by visual means and by listening to bird song. We aim for the minimum disturbance possible to all birds, wherever the location. We also enjoy just being out and about in the countryside – whatever the weather!
We travel by car and after we have completed our walk, which is usually no more than 2/3 miles, we retire to a nearby cafe, or occasionally a pub, for refreshments and convivial company.
Good walking shoes and binoculars are needed to maximise this activity. It is a group for beginners as well as those with more experience. We currently have a small number of places available to join us, please get in touch if you are interested. We will also keep a waiting list if necessary.
Please see the Programme for 2020 for the outings planned for the year.
