Dear Bus Passers!!
Our last adventure on February 7th saw our intrepid band board our favourite bus, the 505, and head off to Clenchwarton, just on the outskirts of King’s Lynn.
As you may know the Victory Inn in Clenchwarton has been closed for refurbishment for some time but it has now re-opened for business with a new name “The Partridge”. We all had a great afternoon there with Jed and Ashleigh the new, and young, landlords, who made us all very welcome.
From an original target of 6 to 8 members we are now a group of 17 thanks to the recent additions of Ray & Laraine Southam. I did suggest, some time ago, that we split into two groups but everyone likes it the way it is. I do try to get everyone to sit somewhere else within the group when they get up to get a second drink or whatever but it’s a bit like herding cats, they have a mind of their own, at least some do. Our next adventure on the 505 on March 13th , Friday the 13th !! The destination is known only to two persons at the moment, the Bus driver and me! I will let the Bus Passers know in plenty of time but for now, Mum’s the word! Now I know some of you are thinking is this group crazy or what? Well, we could just be having a collective second or third childhood because we are planning a one off “Beano” as they used to be called.
On Friday, June 5th we shall go to the North Norfolk coast courtesy of the 505 bus and the Coast Hopper out of King’s Lynn. My challenge is to find the perfect pub, good beer, a good menu choice alongside a great piece of coastline, to get everyone there and back in good shape. Wish me luck.
