Group Leader Jane Webb
The group will next meet on September 23rd with a visit to Crowland Abbey.
On October 28th we will welcome the return of Diane Carlton Smith, a favourite author, to entertain us with tales of Plague and Fire in old Wisbech Town.
Our plan for November is for us to visit the Wisbech and Fenland Museum where there is a special Chairman’s exhibition curated by Richard Barnwell showing his personal selection of curiosities from the collection.
There is also a special exhibition of the anti-slavery campaign of Thomas Clarkson and linking it with modern slavery. We have requested a visit and guided tour for our group starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday 26th November. We are, however, awaiting confirmation.
When used, there will be a small charge to cover the cost of hiring the Village Hall and refreshments.
For further information please contact Jane Webb.
