History Of Art
|Place:||United Reformed Church, Sutton Coldfield, B73 6AA|
|Day:||3rd Wednesday each month|
Definitive meeting dates are displayed in the Monthly Programme.
If you are interested in learning more about the history of art, we would be pleased to welcome you to our meetings.
We have presented illustrated talks on a variety of artists and art movements spanning many centuries and forms of art. Our speakers have been visiting experts or members of the U3A who have a particular enthusiasm for the subject.
If you wish to gauge what we do, you may like to click the link (under the flying bird icon at the top right of this screen) to “Some earlier topics”. You will find some more details about our next talk if you click “Our next presentation”.
We also organise coach trips to places of interest, usually about twice per year. The venues are primarily art galleries, either quite local or further afield. We are able to book conducted tours, with the gallery curator or other gallery experts providing invaluable insights into the artworks on display. We are usually able to arrange for coffee on arrival, plus a buffet lunch. The expeditions are very popular (normally about 50 people on each occasion), especially as not everyone can reach our destinations in any other way.
Again, if you would like to know more, please click the link to “Some earlier visits”. You will find some more details about our next visit if you click “Our next visit”.
