The Group is about Singing for fun. We are definitely NOT a choir and there are NO AUDITIONS. Currently, we have about 28 regular members with a female:male ratio of 4:1. So, all new members are welcome - especially if your voice has broken!
We are accompanied by our excellent Tutor on the piano. She has a vast number of tunes in her head, and she can instantly change the key to suit the group's preference. She has built up a collection of over 200 sets of words, many of them requested by group members.
At the start of each session, we have a 'history' lesson on recent anniversaries and events; we then sing suitable songs from our book. For the anniversary of VE day, for example, we sang There'll be Blue Birds over, There'll Always be an England, etc.
So it really is Singing for fun.
Come along and see for yourself.
