Computing - Windows Desktops and Laptops
This group aims to enhance the skill and improve the effectiveness of those who use Windows computers. The group is entirely focussed on Windows 10. We meet twice each month.
On the third Thursday we meet at 10.30am in the Lee on Solent library to discuss a variety of general computer related topics, such as security, malware, cyber-crime and PC performance.
On the Friday following the meeting at Lee on Solent library we hold a “hands on" meeting at the Foster Room in Stubbington. At this meeting, which starts at 0930am, we explore some of the ways we can improve our effectiveness and discover processes that we may not have tried before. Members who have laptops bring them to this meeting; those who use desktops will share a laptop.
Some members come to just the Thursday or the Friday meeting but most members come to both meetings. We start each meeting by sharing experiences and seeking the advice of other members.
While members of this group are improving their computer knowledge and skills, our meetings do not form a comprehensive course in computing for absolute beginners. Also, we are not able to deal with individual computer failures.
