Stroud & District

Welcome to Stroud and District U3A

Stroud U3A is a self-governing charity working under the umbrella of The Third Age Trust (see link at top of page), established in 1989. We share the common philosophy, aims and objectives of the Trust, which is also a charity. At the moment (December 6), Stroud U3A has 55 groups – either study groups or social groups. The current group activities are summarised on the Groups page (we’re always open to suggestions for new activities). Our focus is on enabling lifelong learning and social interaction for our members - so that retired or semi-retired people from all walks of life & all ages (there is no upper or lower age limit) can meet like-minded men & women to expand their knowledge, share interests & acquire new skills.

We would love you to join (membership costs £12 per year per person) - you are allowed to attend two group meetings as a guest to see if it is what you want. Membership renewals are due on 1st September annually.

Please download and complete the Membership Application/Gift Aid form and send off to our Membership Secretary (postal address on the form).

For more information, please do have a look through this web site, and see our Newsletter. If you then have any queries, please email one of the following people - Clive at Chairman, Simon at Membership Secretary, or Jane at Group Coordinator, or otherwise please use the Contact page.

If you'd like help with IT, or want some more information about the U3A, visit one of our Drop-in sessions.

You can view a note from our chairman on your privacy, and our Privacy Policy, which states what information we hold about members and how it is used (see our Data Protection Policy).

If you find any errors or omissions on these pages, or you’d like to make suggestions for improvement, please contact Simon at webmaster.
