Stroud & District

Welcome to Stroud and District U3A

Stroud u3a is a self-governing charity working under the umbrella of The Third Age Trust (see link at top of page), established in 1989. We share the common philosophy, aims and objectives of the Trust, which is also a charity.

Our focus is on enabling lifelong learning and social interaction for our members - so that retired or semi-retired people from all walks of life & all ages (there is no upper or lower age limit) can meet like-minded men & women to expand their knowledge, share interests & acquire new skills.

Our activities were severely limited during lockdown, but we are now getting back to ‘normal’.

Stroud u3a has over 50 groups – either study groups or social groups. The current group activities are summarised on the Groups page (we’re always open to suggestions for new activities).

We do also hold monthly meetings for all our members & have just started holding quarterly socials.

For more information, please do have a look through this web site, and see our Information Email. If you then have any queries, please email one of the following people - Paul at Chairman, Clive at Secretary, Simon at Membership , Paula at New Member Liaison or Jane at Group Coordinator, - or otherwise please use the Contact page.

We would love you to join - you are allowed to attend two group meetings as a guest to see if it is what you want. Membership renewals are due on 1st September annually. For the 2021/22 year, the membership fee is £12 per person.

If you'd like to join, or to update your contact information, please see the notes on the Applying page.

You can view a note from our secretary on your privacy, and our Privacy Policy, which states what information we hold about members and how it is used (see our Data Protection Policy).

If you find any errors or omissions on these pages, or you’d like to make suggestions for improvement, please contact Simon at webmaster.
