Welcome to Stroud and District U3A
Stroud u3a is a self-governing charity working under the umbrella of The Third Age Trust (see link at top of page), established in 1989. We share the common philosophy, aims and objectives of the Trust, which is also a charity.
Our focus is on enabling lifelong learning and social interaction for our members - so that retired or semi-retired people from all walks of life & all ages (there is no upper or lower age limit) can meet like-minded men & women to expand their knowledge, share interests & acquire new skills.
At the moment (August 7 2020), Stroud u3a has 59 groups – either study groups or social groups. The current group activities are summarised on the Groups page (we’re always open to suggestions for new activities).
Our normal activities have of course been severely limited by the current emergency; see our Coronavirus page. As of 7 August, 32 of our groups are overcoming this - online, via email or telephone, or at a social distance on Rodborough Common! The details are on the Groups or News pages.
For more information, please do have a look through this web site, and see our Information Email. If you then have any queries, please email one of the following people - Clive at Chairman, Simon at Membership Secretary, Paula at New Member Liaison or Jane at Group Coordinator, - or otherwise please use the Contact page.
We would love you to join - you are allowed to attend two group meetings as a guest to see if it is what you want. Membership renewals are due on 1st September annually. For the 2021/22 year, the membership fee is £12 per person.
If you'd like to join, or to update your contact information, please see the notes on the Applying page.
If you'd like help with IT, or want some more information about the u3a, visit one of our Drop-in sessions when they resume.
