Stroud & District u3a – New Data Protection Legislation

It’s not all fun …… sometimes we need to talk about serious things like data protection!
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (also known as GDPR) came into effect on 25 May 2018.
This created a new scheme governing the processing of personal data by organisations and a number of new rights for individuals.

At present we hold membership details including - contact address, telephone numbers, email address, Group interest & (in some cases) previous work experience.
To ensure we follow the provisions of the new legislation, we have adopted our own Privacy Policy based on advice from u3a Central Office.
All members now receive a copy of this and in addition it is on our website, in the Bulletin & Newsletter. All new Members receive a copy on joining.
The Membership List has restricted access to Committee Members only.

Please contact the Secretary Clive Edgington or the Membership Secretary Simon Wright if you have any queries related to our Privacy Policy.
