Foreign Cultures/Travel

The Foreign Cultures and Travel Group meets at 10:00 a.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month at members' houses. Having done some research beforehand, typically one person will talk about the geography of a country, one the history, one flora and fauna, one food and drink, one tourism. But it can vary according to people's tastes or any specialist knowledge. It is not all talking, and does not need to be specially 'learned' (and is not highbrow). People often bring maps, photos if they've been there, or local crafts e.g weaving. At the end of each meeting we decide which country to focus on for the next meeting, thus giving people a month to find suitable information.
