Reading - Book Club
Our U3A Book Club is run in quite a unique way.
It consists of four different groups meeting at Minchinhampton, Uplands, Ebley and Cainscross, with about 10 people in each group, making a total of around 40 people.
We are at the time of year when all the groups are asked to put forward their nominations for the books we will be reading next year. At the end of March we have an Annual meeting where we will all vote to choose next year’s books. This year we are meeting at the Cotswold Bowls club who will be providing the refreshments.
I think that having suggestions from so many members results in a very diverse and especially interesting list of books to read.
I know how much I have enjoyed belonging to the group, my favourite book from this year has been “ A Gentleman in Moscow “ by Amor Towles, a wry, amusing book that says a lot about life, whatever your situation.
If anyone is interested in joining us do get in touch, men would be especially welcome.
All the groups meet on the 2nd Monday of the Month at 2:30 in the afternoon.
Happy Reading,
Wendy Birkinshaw. Group Coordinator.
