Cycling 20 Below Group
Twenty Below is a cycling group intended for fair weather cyclists. With this in mind I do not expect to do anything until next Spring and improving weather, the basic criteria being, getting warmer, light winds and no rain. The sort of route I have taken in the past is around twenty miles or less, with preferably a pub at the half way mark. For example a shorter starter route might be East Bergholt-Bentley-Capel St Mary-Great Wenham-East Bergholt. This is about 10 miles and has the benefit of a visit to the Wenham Queen. A more ambitious circuit is from East Bergholt to the Polstead Cock, returning via the back roads around Shelley, which takes some spectacular countryside. This is around 20 miles.
We live in a nice part of the country and there are many opportunities for recreational cycling. The cycling is non competitive, but sufficiently enthusiastic to provide a virtuous feeling of exercise and having earned your pint.
