Stourbridge in Bloom

Dear Group Members, thank you for your support.
Foster Street bulbs are showing in the planters. Things to look forward to!
When the bulbs have bloomed we need to empty the planters dig them over and replant to make them fresh and less choked. This will be a big job and will need help, the new council leader for the green team said we might be able to get some help emptying them, but the sorting and replanting will be up to us!!! so please keep this in mind and if you can help in the late spring that will be amazing.
I will keep you informed.

Stourbridge in Bloom -Happy Christmas Everyone, I will be in touch in the New Year.

Thank you to members who came forward to help with the bulb planting, Our own Bloom group is quiet at the moment so we have been happy to help Stourbridge in Bloom run by David Harcourt.

Due to holidays and bad weather we have missed a few meetings, but now it is all hands to the trowel!!!
David Harcourt has been allocated lots of daffodil bulbs for Stourbridge and they need our help!
LET'S HELP TO MAKE STOURBRIDGE A CHEERFUL HAPPY PLACE IN SPRING 2024

In October Stourbridge u3a donated bulbs for Foster Street and we planted those and trimmed the plants back to make a good display - Foster Street is our responsibility and we are working hard to do u3a proud!

The u3a group took a break in August - but the main group have been working away keeping everything in order. We will meet up again on Tuesday September 12th 10am

Well after a very wet judging day we have heard that the results will be announced on the 5th October 2023. We were awarded a Silver Gilt.

It is nearly judging time!!!!!!

Friday 14th July is the big day, the Heart of England judges will be looking at our Town and deciding what our result will be, a big thank you to everyone involved in making our Town a place to enjoy and be proud of.
The Photography group have recorded the progress and our group have tried to maintain Foster Street. A huge thank you to all the workers who are there in Town watering and planting early in the morning. The Council have really tried hard this year too so fingers crossed all that combined work will do the trick and gain us a good result. But the Competition isn't everything, the Town will be beautiful for us all.

Stourbridge u3a has been involved with Stourbridge in Bloom since 2019.
The organiser David Harcourt welcomes all community groups to get involved. We were given responsibility for Foster Street in Stourbridge - although we also help where needed around the Town.

There is always a need for more help, so if you are able to join our group please let me know, you will be very welcome.

The Spring is here and we need to get going and make Foster Street tidy- Please come and help. We are meeting 10-12 on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday - meet at Foster Street, Stourbridge. We have a chatty weed and prune and then go for a cuppa, if you like gardening - come along!

Please message if you would like to join us.
