Stourbridge

Geography

The group meets at the Institute in Stourbridge town centre on the second Monday of each month . The sessions last for two hours starting at 2.00pm

Each month we introduce a country using UTUBE video and then each member in turn presents certain aspects of that country. This is entirely voluntary as no member is taken around the back. The leader acknowledges that not all are comfortable with speaking to a group.Coverage of each country would include structure and relief, agriculture, industry, tertiary activity, and specific social and environmental issues .The plan was to go through the alphabet in sequence starting with Albania in December 2021 and then Bangladesh followed by Colombia ending with Zimbabwe in February 2024.This has been miraculously achieved on time and none of the members suffered any lasting damage as a result.

The group is an excellent example of democracy in action with suggestions on other one -off topics readily received from members as and when global events warrant it e.g rewilding, population, migration, desertification .
Please come along and give us a try - a warm welcome awaits.
