Singing for Pleasure
PAGE UPDATED ON 10th OCTOBER 2021
The Singing for Pleasure group is led by Angela Bennett and meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at St. Joseph’s Church Hall between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.
We sing songs in unison and also in four parts – soprano, alto, tenor and bass. There is no need to read music (most of us don’t) but you will learn a lot about how to sing from a music score.
The group has now been split into two smaller groups of about 35 and will meet for two sessions with a break in between.
GROUP 1 singers should arrive for 9.45 to register and will sing from 10.00 to 11.00
GROUP 2 singers should arrive for 11.00 to register and will sing from 11.15 to 12.15
• October 19th
• November 2nd and 16th (the fifth Tuesday in November will be used by the Ukelele Group).
• December 7th and 21st
• January 4th and 18th 2022
The group sings a wide variety of pieces of music – light hearted warm-ups activities, short amusing songs and rounds as well as songs from musicals, gospel music, folk songs from round the world, pop songs from the 1960s and 1970s and much more.
