Group Leader contact: Pam Robinson (Co-ordinator)
Unfortunately this group is now full, but if you would like your name to be added to the waiting list, please contact group Co-ordinator.
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU WANT TO JOIN ANY OF THE WALKING GROUPS YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF u3a FOR INSURANCE REASONS.
We walk on the second Thursday of the month. Walks are approximately 5 to 7 miles over mixed terrain, including some steep sections and uneven paths eg heather tracks, stony and boggy paths. Walkers are expected to be equipped with appropriate clothing and food, including walking boots and wet weather gear as appropriate.
Walks usually include a morning coffee stop and a lunch break, and we also often finish in a pub or tea shop for a drink after the walk (for those who wish to stay).
There is a set of Health and Safety guidelines for the group. These will be given to new members (and circulated to members on an annual basis).
Members of the group lead walks and details of the next walk are sent to group members a week or two before the walk date. Members are then asked to contact the walk leader beforehand to say that they wish to join their walk (some walks may be limited with numbers). They should also contact the walk leader if they need further information.
