iPhone and iPad Group

The iPhone and iPad Group
Group co-ordinator: Jean Spenceley
Meet in Stokesley Town Hall on second Monday in the month from 1.30 to 3.30pm (no meeting in August)
New members are always welcome to join, no matter what level of competence reached in using the iPad/iPhone. Someone who has just acquired a device would be helped in acquiring the basic skills, while those who have owned one for years could still gain from being part of the group.
None of the members in our group consider themselves to be expert users of the iPad or iPhone; rather, we aim to support each other in developing our skills.
The first part of each session is small group or individual help for people who may be experiencing problems, or who may wish to develop their competence in a specific skill when using the iPad/iPhone. In the true spirit of the u3a, members are always happy to support each other. The second part of the session is spent in exploring a topic of interest, chosen by the group.
This group was first formed in 2016, and since then has explored (and continues to explore) many of the facilities offered on iPhones and iPads, including:
Settings; Mail: sending and filing emails; Safari: searching for, and storing, information; Photos: taking, editing and sharing; Cloud storage: iCloud and iCloud Drive. The App Store; Passwords and PINs; iTunes, and restoring data; Siri; Facetime
Apps, chosen by group members, including: Contacts, Calendar, Keynote, Google Keep, Google Lens, What 3 Words, BBC Sounds and the North Yorkshire Library App.
