Walking - Long (7-10m.)
The Long Walk starts at 10 am on the first Friday of each month. We walk between 7 and 10 miles and members offer to lead the walks.
The walks are over a wide variety of terrain and start within an hour’s drive of Stokesley.
Walkers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
We usually stop for a morning coffee break and lunch, then end the walk in a café or pub, though this is obviously optional.
Information about an upcoming walk is usually circulated 10 to 14 days before the walk and group members are asked to contact the Walk Leader if they wish to join the walk. This is to ensure that we know who to expect and to ensure walks do not exceed 20 walkers, though the number of walkers is set by the Walk Leader depending upon the walk’s terrain. People participating in our walks are requested to share transport where possible. The Walk Leader, knowing who will be on the walk, can advise on car sharing and will also answer any queries about the walk.
Every encouragement and support will be given to any group member wishing to plan and lead a walk.
New members are welcome.
