U3A
The University of the Third Age (U3A) Movement provides life enhancing opportunities to individuals who are in their third age. Membership is not related to a numerical age but to a period in one's life following the two ages of child dependence, and full time employment/parental responsibility. Anybody in their third age can join U3A and this includes people who are working part time. All you need is interest and enthusiasm.
Members are provided with opportunities to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups, and pursue learning not to gain formal qualifications, but for fun and in good company. Members share their skills and life experiences, and there is no distinction between group leaders and learners.
Stoke-on-Trent South U3A
Stoke-on -Trent South U3A was founded in 2011. It has a membership from all areas within North Staffordshire, and is a constantly growing group with over 400 members. Members can belong to as many groups as they wish. Activities can be educational, creative. or recreational, but whatever group you choose you will make new friends and find new interests. We are always looking for new friends to join us and particularly for new group leaders to share their skills and knowledge.
Members of Stoke-on-Trent South U3A are entitled to attend activities and social events organized by neighbouring U3As without having to pay an additional membership fee.
