Stockton-on-Tees

Classical Music

Meets at: Newtown Community Centre.
Weeks 1 and 3, Wednesdays 10.00 - 12.00 noon

We are a group who enjoys listening to classical music. Each programme consists of a selection of works - usually a symphony followed by one or two shorter pieces.

Recently we’ve heard pieces by well-known composers - Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Berlioz and Tchaikovsky have featured in the longer works. Less well-known composers have also featured, giving us new opportunities to enjoy less familiar works.

Anyone is welcome to contribute - just let the GL know that you’d like to provide the music of your choice and bring along the CD(s) to play. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in music with no distractions and in the company of others with whom to discuss the pieces we’ve listened to.
