Philosophy

Meets at: Newtown Community Centre
Weeks 2 and 4, Fridays 10.00 - 12.00 noon

We are a discussion group, open to anyone interested in Philosophy. Members present a Philosophical topic to the group (or, depending on the programme at the time, a Philosopher ancient or modern), and lead a discussion on this. Although everyone has the opportunity to make a presentation, there is no compulsion to do so. Currently, we are covering various aspects of morals and ethics; including the ideas of Kant, Utilitarianism, Existentialism, Moral Agents, does the end justify the means ... and more.
