Stockton-on-Tees

Local History 1 and 2

Meets at Newtown Community Centre
Week 3, Group 1: Monday 10.00 - 12.00 noon; Group 2: Tuesday 10.00 - 12.00 noon

This group explores the history of Stockton and the surrounding area, in its broadest sense. We have covered a huge range of topics from Elton Hall and the Sutton Family to Stockton's Quayside Mission.
Come along and share our interest in local events, personalities, buildings and more.

As both groups are full, please only attend the group to which you have been assigned.

The next meeting will be on Monday 15th April for LH1 and Tuesday 16th April for LH2.
The presentation will begin with For Sale by Auction, Nos.62 and 63 Stockton High Street. This leads to The Poignant Tale Behind a Receipt for a Bridal Bouquet and ends with The 1970s Redevelopment of that part of the High Street.
