Walks - Short

Three to four mile walks every Wednesday at 10-30am except the 1st Wednesday of the month.

The walks cover a wide variety of countryside in Derbyshire, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester.
For distant walks, sharing cars is an option.

Different people volunteer to lead the walks.
The Group Leaders welcome people for this task.

All walks start at 10.30 am prompt, Please wear good walking boots or shoes.

The annual lunch for the Short walks group will be held again at The Alma Lodge Hotel, 149 Buxton Road, Stockport, SK2 6EL. on Wednesday 20th November at 12 noon for 12.30.

All present and past member of this group are welcome. The cost will be £22 per head inclusive of service charge, this is for 3 courses plus tea and coffee.

Menu choices will follow as soon as these have been finalised. We will be taking bookings at the October and November monthly meetings, and hope to see you all at the Alma Lodge.

Wed Dec 11th For this walk the meeting point will be “Nelsons Pit Car Park’ Higher Poynton and commencing at 10.30 am as normal.

The walk will be approximately 4 miles taking in part of the Macclesfield Canal and Lyme Park, with a coulee of stiles.
Wed Dec 18th Christmas coffee walk. Short walk to N.T. Quarry Bank Mill for coffee and toast. Leader: Bob Wain
Twinnins Bridge car park, Carrs Rd, off B5166 Styal Rd. (SK9 4AA). or park at Quarry Mill and meet in the main cafe.
