The Watercolour Group meets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Friday mornings from 10.00am - 12.30pm, in the Catholic Church Hall in Steyning.
We are a small friendly group and generally like to 'do our own thing'. We sometimes look at each other's work and try to help with constructive advice when asked. Members occasionally bring in 'still life' type things to paint but there is no pressure to take part. As individuals, we sometimes go on painting courses to help improve our skills. Although most of us focus on watercolour, we sometimes use other media as well.
We are a sociable group and like to have tea/coffee and a chat, at some point during the session. As the meetings are in a hired venue, we each make a small termly contribution to cover the cost.
We currently have room for some new members and beginners are very welcome. If you have never painted before, or you’re a bit unsure how to progress, you know help is at hand if you need it. It’s always strange walking into an unknown group of people but if think that you might like to paint, come along and see what we do. You are welcome to watch and chat to us on your first visit, if you find it more comfortable to do that. If you've painted before and have some idea of what you want to do, why not bring along your paints, pencils, paper, whatever you use, and enjoy painting with other like minded people. You won’t be disappointed.
