The University of the Third Age (U3A) is an international organisation which caters for those men and women who are not in full-time employment. There are no entry requirements, no examinations, and no qualifications are awarded. Stevenage U3A was amongst the first to be set up.

There are 1000 U3As, with around 400,000 thousand members in the United Kingdom, each one being independent and having its own constitution. However, there are regional and national umbrella organisations, to assist in maintaining the common purpose of continuing education.

Stevenage U3A, during term time has a Thursday Open Group (T.O.G) for all members and those interested in finding out about the U3A. More information is available on the T.O.G. accessed through the Groups page using the yellow Groups button on the top tool bar.

Stevenage U3A also runs occasional day trips to a variety of venues e.g. historic homes and gardens,as well as visits to the theatre.

We are always looking for people who are willing to share their hobbies/expertise/enthusiasm with our members, whether long or short term, especially in areas that we do not yet cover, there is help and advice available to start a new group. Again, please use the contact page in the first instance.

We are constantly updating this website to ensure that all information is correct, however it is dependent upon volunteers. If you find an error please let us know using the Contact page 'other' button.
