Stapleford & District

Welcome

Welcome to Stapleford and District u3a. U3A stands for the University of the Third Age, which is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. Its aim is to provide opportunities for its members to share a wide range of educational, creative and leisure activities in a friendly environment. Our motto is LIVE, LAUGH, AND LEARN

ABOUT US

Stapleford & District is the 100th U3A to be set up in the East Midland region. Each U3A is a self-funded, self-managed charity and is a member of The Third Age Trust which oversees the National U3A network. Activities are organised via Interest Groups which draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their own members. Everyone learns only for the pleasure of it, no qualifications are required to join a group and none are given.

MEETINGS

We have a monthly Open Meeting from 2.00-4.00 pm on the first Wednesday of the month. We meet at Stapleford Methodist Church, Eatons Road, NG9 7EA, where members meet together and enjoy a programme of interesting speakers followed by refreshments and time to mingle and socialise.

NEWSLETTER

A Newsletter is produced monthly providing news on both local and national U3A issues and activities. This can be downloaded via the NEWSLETTERS tab.

We have a range of Interest Groups which meet at various locations and are run by the members. For more information please visit the GROUPS page.
