History - Medieval
The Medieval History Group meets on the second Thursday morning of the month at Lexden. The group now covers the period from 400AD to 1500AD.
The programme for 2015 starting in February is: The Growth of Parliament in the 14th century; The Economy of England on the eve of Black Death; China - the Ming Dynasty; William the Conquerer and the English Rebellion; European Trade in the Late Middle Ages; Mary Queen of Scots; Christine de Pizan; Architectural Developments from 1000AD to 1500AD; The Third Crusade; The establishment of the Kingdoms of the Near East following the Third Crusade; and finally in December there will be a quiz.
We will have one or two visits. At least half the sessions will be individually researched and presented by members of the Group, other than their leader!
