The Family History Group meeting usually begins with a welcome to any new members. Help is offered by the group for any member's research difficulties or members report the discovery of unusual research means or materials.
After that one of the group gives a short talk leading into a topic chosen by agreement at the previous meeting. Examples of recent topics are: Weddings and Christmas, Wills, How our ancestors travelled, Clothing, Medicine and health, Superstitions and their origins, and Ancestors' brushes with the law. Not surprisingly we've had a couple of meetings in the past year in connection with members' ancestors involved in the Great War.
This group meets in the afternoon of the second Thursday of each month at the Group Leader's home.
If you would find this approach helpful in your research please contact the Group Leader via the Bluebird contact button at the side of the page either to express your interest or simply to find out more about this group.
