Poetry for Pleasure
You can download the Poetry Group Programme 2023-2024
Do you enjoy reading and listening to poetry? Then why not come and try out our exciting Poetry for Pleasure programme? We are a small, friendly group, meeting on the first Thursday afternoon of most months, from 2-4pm at the group leader's home. We have a yearly programme of broad ranging topics suggested by the members; recent topics included schooldays and playdays, the Fireside poets, spring, new life and celebrations. In the latest programme, we are focusing on certain individual poets old and new and also on poems relating to various cultures. We each bring along two or three poems, related to the topic of the month, which we share with the rest of the group and discuss in a relaxed, informal manner. We end the afternoon with tea, coffee and biscuits. You are warmly welcomed to pop along and try us out.
The group leader is Pat Crosby
