Sketchbook Art

Sketchbook Art is an art for all interests and all levels group. We focus on the sketchbook as a means of developing ideas, experimenting with media and visual references. We do not aim to produce ‘finished’ pieces of work but more about the enjoyment of the creative process and to share ideas and have some fun and hopefully learn something new and explore our creative talents!
This is a self help group and tasks are set and completed during our meetings. Members contribute to the cost of room hire and a small additional contribution covers some printing and material costs.
We meet in The Corn Exchange on the first and third Wednesday of the month (10.00am – 12.00).

The group first met in February 2012 and has continued to meet twice a month since. In that time we have studied a wide range of themes (line, form, colour), artists (e.g. Picasso, Lowry, Warhol) and techniques (inks, watercolour, collage etc..).
'Sketchbookers' are challenged to try new ideas and new ways of working. Results have been excellent and even the most reluctant Artists have gained confidence in their own abilities.
The group enjoy Show & Tell. Individual members volunteer to speak for five minutes to the rest of the group about a subject which is of interest to themselves. This provides interesting and enthusiastic short talks on Art related subjects.
