Tuesday 12 Book Club
The Tuesday Twelve Book Club – so called because we will be meeting on the third Tuesday of the month and 12 is the maximum number of members felt to be manageable.
Group leader is Jane Brooks – please contact via link on the top right of this page.
The group meets in The St Ives Library on the third Tuesday of the month - 2:30-4:30pm. There is a small charge for using the Library's services.
Transcription by Kate Atkinson will be discussed at the meeting on February 18th, when we will be lunching at the Cromwell (previous book lists can be seen by following the links on the right of this page).
At each meeting, the person who nominated the month’s book will open the discussion with information about the author, any relevant historical points, any facts of interest about the book etc, and then the book will be discussed by the group.
The group is registered with the St Ives library who will do their best to get as many copies of our chosen books, otherwise most books can be bought at a reasonable cost from local shops, Amazon, ebay etc.
In early 2017 the group voted for their 10 best books from the 56 that had previously been read. Remains of the Day by Kazao Ishiguro was the top choice. The full list of 10 will be published in a future St Ives U3A Newsletter.
