Science is for Everyone
Group Leader: | Bob Roach |
Venue: | Friends' Meeting House |
Days and Times: | Second Tuesday of the month, 10.30 a.m. till 12.30. |
The group is aimed at people without a scientific background who would like to improve their knowledge and understanding of scientific issues. However, people with a science background are also welcome to attend.
We usually start the meeting by members saying what science they have come across recently. We then look at a previously agreed main topic, with me usually preparing a Powerpoint presentation on it. A topic may be completed in one session or may continue over several sessions. Topics covered in the last 12 months have included:-
• Plate tectonics
• Artificial Intelligence
• Homo sapiens – How did we get to here?
